2021 Daily Devotion - Day 426
While doing my devotions, I ran across one in “The Power of Being Thankful” by Joyce Meyer. It’s entitled “Reach Your Full Potential”. While even in adversity, there is potential to gain so much knowledge and wealth – not wealth as in monetary wealth, but as in growing in Christ. God can and will use adversity to strengthen you.
Winston Churchill said, “Difficulties mastered are opportunities won.”
The Lord recently taught me a very important lesson. Without realizing what I was doing, I was placing someone before God. It was not intentional. I didn’t even realize it was happening. My heart was very vulnerable. God, in His infinite wisdom, revealed to me certain attributes – causing me to take a step back. And then I was able to realize what was going on. At first, yes, I was hurt. I was devastated, but then I used this adversity to reach my full potential in Christ. I surrendered the pain, understanding what God was showing me through this life lesson.
We must watch our hearts, always keeping God first in our hearts and in our lives. Satan is right around the corner waiting to deter us from reaching our full potential in Christ. Through all of this, I have learned of my tender heart for those in need. God made me that way. But we must remember, God already knows what they need more so than we do. He’s got this. Just keep trusting in Christ alone.
Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight.”
Pray with me:
Father God, I thank You for teaching me I don’t have to give up when I face adversity. I can meet it head on, knowing You are always with me. Thank You for the promise that greater is He who is in me, then he who is in the world. Help me to always have You first in my heart and in my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
