2021 Daily Devotion - Day 419
Deuteronomy 7:7-8
The LORD did not set His affection on you and choose you because you were more numerous than other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples. But it was because the LORD loved you.
God is who He says He is. God can do what He says He can do. There’s truth in His Word. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
The New Testament tells us God loves believers in Christ the same way He loved His people in the Old Testament. We also know we have been chosen in Christ for God. We need to claim these things personally. Consider how God feels about you. The Word of God says He is holy, most righteous, most perfect, full of splendor. He is a God who has set His affections on you.
Do you feel like life is an uncharted mess? Does it feel like the rails have fallen off and you can’t get back on track? Perhaps life just feels a little “off”; a little “meh”. Let’s own the moment and claim the truth: “God loves ME no matter what.” What can I do right now to embrace this love? Is it prayer? Read a devotion and reflect on it? Read scripture?
I encourage you to get close to God and be consistent with it. Feed your spirit and soul with God’s Word.
Pray with me:
Dear Lord, thank You for how much You love me and how much You show Your love for me. I thank You for being in my life and loving me even when I don’t feel lovable. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
