2021 Daily Devotion - Day 410

Jeremiah 29:11-13 NIV
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray with me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

This praise song speaks to me about God’s plans for my life. It’s called “Evidence” by Josh Baldwin. It begins:

“All throughout my history; Your faithfulness has walked beside me
The winter storms made way for spring;
In every season, from where I’m standing
I see the evidence of Your goodness all over my life”

Hindsight, it has been a great tool to help me see my life from a new and clearer perspective. When I’ve felt times of uncertainty, fear, regret, and little hope, God’s promises and my trust in Jesus has revealed that those winter storms will lead to a beautiful spring, full of hope. When I look back at my life, I realize God has placed me exactly where I needed to be, with the people I needed to be with, with the ups and downs I needed to experience, and to the true peace and joy I needed to feel with the help of Jesus.

The song “Evidence” goes on to say:

“Help me remember when I’m weak; fear may come, but fear will leave
You lead my heart to victory; You are my strength and You always will be
So why should I fear? The evidence is here”

Pray with me:
Heavenly Father, Your plan for our lives is always good; full of hope and love. But sometimes life has a way of changing those plans. Please help us to remember You are our refuge and strength, and You are always with us. Please open our hearts to Your constant love and grace on our behalf. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
