2021 Daily Devotion - Day 392

Have you ever been out in the world, when all of a sudden God reaches down and touches your heart? This happened to me just recently.

I was in Eden, Utah, skiing at a resort called Powder Mountain. I skied out of the trees into the most breathtaking view I have ever seen. Before me were the bluest skies I’ve ever seen with a beautiful blanket of pure white snow covering every mountain around me. Out of this beautiful pure white blanket were some of the tallest green pine trees I’ve ever seen. Can you see it in your mind’s eye?

At that very moment, I felt God‘s presence so deeply and the next thing I knew there were tears rolling down my cheeks as I was overwhelmed by the beauty God had presented to me. I was wearing a ski helmet and my phone’s playlist was all Christian music. God, at that very moment, chose for me to listen to the song “Testify to Love” – which as followers of Christ we know: He is Love!

The people I was skiing with could tell something was happening with me and asked if I was okay. My response was, yes! I shared that I was thanking Christ for what He had given us this day. I looked at them and said, “Look around you at what the Lord has created for us.” They were very quiet and looked at me, and thanked me for opening their eyes to God’s presence.

My daily prayer is for God to help me see Him in the everyday things, and to help me “testify to His love”. So the next time you’re out in the world, stop and look for God. Trust me, He is right there with you.

Here is the chorus of “Testify to Love”:

For as long as I shall live,
I will testify to love.
I'll be a witness in the silences
When words are not enough.
With every breath I take,
I will give thanks to God above.
For as long as I shall live,
I will testify to love.

Psalm 28:7
The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly Rejoice, and with my song I will praise him.

Pray with me:
Father God, I ask You to help me see You, not only in the big things but in the little things as well. I ask You to guide me and lead me to those around me who are searching for what will fill their hearts, and help me to “testify” to You all the days of my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
