2020 Daily Devotion - Day 263
“Every time we open our mouths and speak, we are either saying let there be light or let there be darkness.” Author Glennon Doyle Melton
Ephesians 5:8 NRSV
For once you were darkness, but now in the Lord you are light. Live as children of light.
Pray with me:
Heavenly Father, through our Lord Jesus Christ, You have brought Your light into the world. Without this light, we would be walking in the darkness of the soul. But because of this light, there is hope for all who follow Jesus. Help us to give this light away in all we do. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Yours because of Him,

Advent is a season of light. This is because the light of the world, Jesus, has come into the world bringing illumination. As His disciples, we are meant to share this light with everyone. Advent is a good time to turn up the light. During this season, let’s be on special watch of our words. Let’s think about what we say before we say it, asking ourselves, “Are these words of light or not?” It is a time when we need to tell others about the light Jesus can bring into their lives as well. Let us be people of Christ’s light.
