2020 Daily Devotion - Day 144
Helen Keller (June 27, 1880 – June 1,1968) was an American author, political activist, and lecturer. She was the first deaf and blind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree. She overcame tremendous challenges, and became not only world famous, but a tremendous inspiration for all. She understood what it meant to work hard while overcoming tremendous problems and challenges. We can find inspiration in her words.
“No pessimist ever discovered the secrets of the stars, or sailed to an uncharted land, or opened a new heaven to the human spirit.” ―Helen Keller
1 Corinthians 13:7 ESV
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Since we know the love of God in Jesus Christ, we can experience and give away a kind of love different from what the world knows or understands. The love of God, which we are to give away, is strong, hopeful and enduring. So, we don’t have to be pessimists in challenging situations. We can be people of hope, who are always striving forward and never giving up.
Pray with me:
Heavenly Father, it is easy to find fault and want to quit. Too many people stay focused on problems. However, Your love can change all of this. Your great love turns us into people of hope. Your love reminds us You have not given up, and nor should we. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Yours because of Him,
