2020 Daily Devotion - Day 140

Philippians 1:6 ESV
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

Isn’t it good news to know God is not finished with you yet? We are truly a “work in progress”. This means there is hope. From the moment you were baptized or came to faith in Jesus, a process was started where God, through the Holy Spirit, has been working to shape and develop you into the person He wants you to be. He can even use this period of the Coronavirus as a tool. It doesn’t mean God is the author of the virus, because He is not. None the less, He is able to take this terrible situation and use it to mature us. We can grow in faith and trust in God. We can grow as Christ followers. Simply put, we are meant to grow into greater spiritual maturity.

Pray with me:
Heavenly Father, we are so grateful to know You are not done with us. This is good news, because it means You have not given up on us or have simply walked away. As each day begins, remind us we have a new opportunity for You to grow and develop us. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Yours because of Him,
Pastor John R. Steward
