2020 Daily Devotion - Day 133

“A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.” ― Winston Churchill

Having been in leadership roles most of my life, I have seen over and over again the people who will only focus on what is wrong and how difficult the problems will be to solve. As a result, they never get very far in life. As the great Winston Churchill has said, they are so focused on the negative that they can never see the new opportunity. He should know. As most of Europe was falling into the hands of the Nazis and many could only see failure and resigned themselves to defeat, it was Prime Minister Winston Churchill who said Britain would not surrender. Having a positive outlook is extremely important and valuable. One of the greatest things you can do for yourself is to stop focusing on all the problems and negativity. Start looking for good and positive things. Start to look, with anticipation, as to what God wants you to do and do what He is doing.

2 Corinthians 4:18 ESV
As we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

Pray with me:
Heavenly Father, give us the eyes of faith and hope. Help us to change our reaction to life. Instead of having the “knee jerk” reaction of seeing only the negative, help us to see Your eternal plan unfolding in our lives. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Yours because of Him,
