2020 Daily Devotion - Day 130

At times like these, it is very easy to grow impatient with others. Sometimes, it doesn’t take much to get us upset. So, we have a choice. We can stand on “our rights” and get upset, or we can act with kindness. We can allow our pride to get the better of us, or we can choose kindness. We can react in kind to someone else’s outburst and be like they are, or we can be kind. Sometimes it is a difficult thing to do. One way to get there is to realize we don’t always know what someone else is dealing with. Perhaps their husband or wife is very sick. Or they lost their job and are struggling. Considering these possibilities might help us in the moment. And the truth is, the more we act in kindness, the better off we are in the long run.

Proverbs 11:17 ESV
A man who is kind benefits himself, but a cruel man hurts himself.

Pray with me:
Heavenly Father, the world is a hostile and angry place. People have little patience with one another. We are easily upset. Help us to be kind. Help us to give the kindness to others like we receive every day from You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Yours because of Him,
