2020 Daily Devotion - Day 99

In life, it is vital to have clear direction. Sometimes we think we can figure it out by ourselves, and we think it works, until it really doesn’t. This is why God’s Word, the Bible, is so very, very important to our lives. Here is what Martin Luther said about the Word of God:

Feelings come and feelings go
And feelings are deceiving;
My warrant is the Word of God,
Naught else is worth believing.
(Attributed to Martin Luther, quoted in The Adversary, Mark Bubeck, Moody Press.)

Matthew 4:4 ESV
But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

Pray with me:
Heavenly Father, we are grateful that Your Word is always available to guide our lives in Your truth. Help us to open our Bible this very day, and then listen to You speak to us.  In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Yours because of Him,
Pastor John R. Steward
