2020 Daily Devotion - Day 96
DON’T QUIT (author unknown)
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re traveling seems all uphill,
When the funds are low, and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
REST IF YOU MUST, BUT DON’T YOU QUIT.
Life is strange with all its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometime learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won if he stuck it out;
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver lining of the clouds of doubt,
You never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you are hardest hit,
It’s when things seem worse, THAT YOU MUST NOT QUIT!
Too many give up too soon. We don’t have to give up, because we have a supernatural power at work in our lives. Because of Jesus Christ living in our hearts through the power of the Holy Spirit, we never need to give up. This is what the Apostle Paul meant with these words:
Philippians 4:13 ESV
I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
Pray with me:
Heavenly Father, we never have to quit, because Your strength lives within us. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, we can keep on keeping on. In Him, we can do all things. Give us this strength and assurance. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
