2020 Daily Devotion - Day 92

Many years ago, I read the account of the time when Winston Churchill was the speaker at a graduation ceremony. He got up, took off his hat, placed his cane to the side of the podium and then said, “Never, never, never, never give up.” And then he sat down – probably one of the shortest commencement speeches ever given, but one that should never be forgotten.

During these days of the Coronavirus, all of the other challenges we see around us, and with the personal struggles we might be having at this time; we need to be reminded to “never give up”.  To never give up comes not from of our own grit and strength. It comes from knowing that God never gives up. The proof is our Lord Jesus Christ, who came to rescue us from sin, death and the power of the devil. Here is how the Psalmist put it:

Psalm 71:14 ESV
But I will hope continually and will praise you yet more and more.

Pray with me:
Heavenly Father, You never give up or give in. You have endless power. Because of this truth, we can keep going no matter what. Give us the strength to “never give up”. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Yours because of Him,
Pastor John R. Steward
