2020 Daily Devotion - Day 59
During this season of the Coronavirus, it becomes difficult to have to stay at home and not go out. It requires patience. It requires stamina. And it requires endurance. Because of the power of God living within you through the Holy Spirit, you can have endurance. We can do this because of His strength and power.
When the Apostle Paul writes his letter to the Colossians, he is reminding them they should not continue to live as they once did before they were believers in Christ Jesus. He tells them they can live according to His principles and by His power. The same is true for us. During this era, we are being reminded that we can live a in a new way; by His strength and not ours.
Colossians 1:11-12
May you be made strong with all the strength that comes from his glorious power, and may you be prepared to endure everything with patience, while joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the light.
Pray with me:
Heavenly Father, the world has always taught us to be self-reliant and self-sufficient. But during this period, we are seeing more clearly than ever that we really can’t. Instead, we need Your strength and power in our lives every day and every hour. Give us this strength today. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
