2020 Daily Devotion - Day 56
Albert Einstein was a German-born physicist who developed a theory that changed everything in the scientific community. It was the “theory of relativity” and is considered today one of the two pillars or modern-day physics. He received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1921. He published over 300 scientific research papers. Today, just the name Einstein is “synonymous with genius”.
Einstein once said, “It's not that I'm so smart, it's just that I stay with problems longer.”
This is an important lesson for us to remember. He was a man who was absolutely brilliant, and said the secret of his success was not so much in his high intelligence, but in his ability to wait.
Right now, waiting is one of our greatest challenges. It would be easier if there was a set date when this would all end, but there really isn’t one. So, we have to wait. However, there is a benefit in learning to wait. Look at this verse from Lamentations.
Lamentations 3:25
The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.
We grow when we learn to wait, because we have to “let go and let God” handle the situation.
Pray with me:
Heavenly Father, waiting is so very difficult for us. We don’t enjoy waiting. We are annoyed by waiting. However, waiting can help us to develop spiritually, because it truly means we need to trust You. Help us to learn the spiritual discipline of waiting. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
