2020 Daily Devotion - Day 41
So often in life, we spend a great deal of time using our “best judgement”. I read the story of one very successful man who said the key to his success was to “trust his gut”. Many people think they know intuitively which way they should go. In this crisis of the Coronavirus, we are being forced to re-exam this approach to life. Perhaps there is a better way. What does God say we should do? Look at this passage from Proverbs chapter three for God’s prescription:
Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Pray with me:
Heavenly Father, during these days, we are coming to understand the limited nature of our own ability. We are not as strong as we think we are. We are not as smart as we think we are. Too often, we have relied upon our own ability, but it is not working these days. There is a better way – which is to trust You with all our heart and not “lean on our own understanding”. Help us to do this today. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
