2020 Daily Devotion - Day 29

I read that in Texas, when a cold air mass moves down from Canada, people sometimes refer to it as a "Blue Northern" and it makes its presence felt! You can feel the wind blow as the high-pressure cold air rushes into the warmer area of lower pressure. The greater the difference in pressure between the high and low, the greater the wind speed.
Prayer creates in us a kind of low-pressure area as we bow in humility before the Lord. The "lower" we can become through prayer, the stronger the wind will be when the high pressure of the Spirit blows in. He will make His presence felt in our lives and in our cities.
Prayer is essential during this time of the Coronavirus. It helps to center us. It helps to give us peace. It helps us remember we are not alone in this time in our lives. We can go to God with anything; at any time of the day or night. Be sure to use this great resource every day and often.
Romans 8:26 RSV
Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with sighs too deep for words.
Let us pray:
Holy Spirit, we are thankful that in the moments when we are lost for words; in the moments when we don’t even know what to say in prayer, You are present and dwell within us, so we can pour our hearts out to our Heavenly Father. Help us to just talk to Him in honest and authentic ways, knowing You will translate our hearts to Him. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
